Baby Wednesday - 16 Weeks

Baby G is about the size of an avocado this week...

Cravings/ Obsessions: Still on my fresh fruit kick... Especially peaches and nectarines. Cannot get enough of them!  The pepperoni bread cravings have waned but now I am craving sweets.  Trying to keep that under control because that could easily get out of hand...   I can feel my belly getting bigger by the day.  I'm starting to get some sharp pain on the sides of my abdomen (woke me up the other night), but its just everything getting stretched out.  Hope it will all go back to normal after the baby arrives...  Don't want to throw out those string bikinis just yet....

Preparation: I just ordered Baby G's new bedding... Now hear me out... I understand I am only 16 weeks preggo, but the bedding takes anywhere from 6 weeks to 8 weeks to make. I ordered it through my new obsession, Etsy. The bedding is from Hush Baby Co who has a "shop" on Etsy. Once the bedding arrives, we'll then decide on what color to paint the nursery. By then I will be well into my 6th/7th month. See? I've got it all figured out! Here's a picture of the bedding:

I told JG its his call whether or not we find out Baby G's gender... and as of right now, he wants to keep it a surprise. I'm fine with that as long as I know that everything is okay. I wanted to refrain from just yellow and green as I'm sure there will be plenty of that to come. I thought this bedding worked for both boy and girl (yes, even though there are flowers). You better like it too... No going back now, the card has been charged.

Anxieties/Elations: Unfortunately, my camera needs a new battery so I was unable to take a picture this week, but trust me, my belly is getting bigger!  I wake up one size and by the end of the day its doubled and then some.  When I first became pregnant I kept reading how my ligaments would be looser so I needed to take caution when exercising.  The other day I got out of my car only to have my left hip completely give out when I stepped out of the car.  I felt like Gumby.  Fortunately I didn't fall, but I was a little shaken up with how it came out of nowhere.  I've also noticed how easily my chiropractor can adjust me now.  He barely moves my back or neck and it cracks.  JG and I had my OB appointment on Friday and we heard Baby G's heartbeat again! Music to our ears! What is so cute is the OB could tell with her doppler that Baby G was moving around alot. So cool!  Starting to feel it more and more!

LOVE the bedding! And I too am addicted to Etsy. :)

Baby's gender being a surprise = AWESOME. Highly recommend it. :) Of course, I'm sure it's awesome either way, but I loved having that moment with Matt in the delivery room!

Speaking of loosening tendons...If you start to have any problems in later months with your sciatic nerve, let me know. When I was pregnant with E, I had to get a maternity support belt from the physical therapist and it worked really well....Holds the hip tendons tighter so your sciatic doesn't get pinched. You wear it under clothes so no one knows too!
